What key challenges did you need help with before you started using Genio?
Arushi Srivastava: y name is Arushi Shivastova. I am currently a rising junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I study psychology and philosophy at the College of Liberal Arts and Science. I've been using Glean, now Genio for the past 3 semesters of my college experience. So, I was introduced to it in my freshman year of college by my access specialist at the university's Disability Resource Center. It was given as an accommodation for my neurodivergence and a way to stay organized as a note taking accommodation and also just keeping track of all my classes and everything like that.
How has Genio helped you with those challenges and impacted your learning experience?
Arushi Srivastava: Glean has definitely made a huge difference in how I study. It's helped me feel more confident and less overwhelmed because I no longer have to scramble to take perfect notes during class. I love that I can load my slide deck onto Glean and set bookmarks during confusing parts, and then I can also rely on the audio transcription to catch everything that the is saying, which is quite important for a lot of the classes that I take. So it saves me so much time organizing my notes, and I know I won't miss anything important. The AI tool that creates outlines from the audio is also really helpful for any kind of review right before my exams. Visually, Glean keeps me on track with the flow of ideas, and it's comforting to know that all I have to do is open my Glean event for that day's class, and everything I need is already there. Especially for philosophy classes where it's easy to lose where my class is going or where the track of thought is, Glean keeps me on track.
