Marie Rittenberry: I have learned so much about myself by living and serving in a community other than my home community. I am much more capable than I thought I was. As you grow and evolve and change, you become more capable of things you previously thought weren't possible. And sometimes it takes getting out of your familiar context to see that. Going somewhere completely new where you don't have the same relationships and roots in the community that maybe you've had your whole life is something that everyone should experience at least once, especially as young adults when you're still figuring out who you are. Doing this experience, you're truly able to get to know yourself and you're able to build a much better relationship with yourself and not even just yourself, but your relationship with God.
