What is your name and what is your role?
Gez Watkins: Hello FLM I'm Geraint Watkins. Everyone calls me Gez and I am the protection adviser, here at FLM.
What do you do on a day to day basis?
Gez Watkins: My role varies day to day from anything from first meetings with your lovely clients, to chasing providers, to writing lovely suitability letters.
What do you love most about your role?
Gez Watkins: I most love about the role is being with clients, client facing, whether that be teams or face to face, interacting with them, learning about their needs. And generally socialising with the clients and meeting people is my favorite part of the role.
What has been your pathway to this role?
Gez Watkins: So my pathway to being an insurance adviser, I'm not sure anyone grows up thinking they're gonna be an insurance adviser, but I fell into it about 15 years ago. I was in real estate before that both here and overseas and when I moved back, some opportunities arose for a bit of a change. It felt right at the time and here I am now.

Gez Watkins: Wow. One lie, one truth on the spot. I, I don't like going for beers after work. I also don't like staying in the office. So the second one is, I don't like staying in the office writing suitability letters. So.

Gez Watkins: And obviously not enjoying a beer after work is a lie.
