Speakers: Thao Weldy, Development Director
Thao Weldy: Hi, my name is Thao Weldy. I am FVAP's Development Director. I joined FVAP this summer after I learned that this incredible organization needed someone to fundraise for its California and Washington operations. Pre-pandemic I lived in the San Francisco Bay area and worked at two nonprofit organizations serving immigrant families and victims of crime. I practiced immigration law as a DOJ accredited rep and opened a legal immigration program in Oakland. During the pandemic I moved to the Seattle area to be closer to family. I'm really excited to dig my heels into my local Washington community and advocate for resources for survivors of domestic violence, seeking safety for themselves and their children I can't wait to share all the impactful work that staff have undertaken. If you haven't already, I hope you'll sign up for our newsletters and stick with me through the next few months as my team shares all that we've been doing to help survivors access justice in California and Washington states.
