What kind of Phone Communication Skills are a must for this position?

Aimee : Active listening, empathy, and patience are the three communication skills needed for this position. Number 1, active listening. Patients are going to throw a bunch of information at you. So actively listening to the patient will help you decipher which information is needed and which information is not too important. Number 2, empathy. Patients are scheduling appointment to determine their health. So placing yourself in their shoes will help determine the flow and the smoothness of the conversation. And number 3, patience. Patients are looking at documents that's unfamiliar to them, allowing the space for them to be frustrated or confused is critical.

What is the call volume like in a normal 8-hour day?

Aimee : The call volume for an 8 hour period is dependent on what day it is and whether there's a holiday coming up. But typically you can expect to take around probably like 65 a day, but it's worth it.

Aimee : Yes, having strong computer skills is needed for a scheduler role because you're navigating. A complex system, and the faster you're able to navigate that system, the more patients that you can help.
