Why were you looking for a business coach in the first place?
Tara Thomas: in the middle of the pandemic. I found myself in a position where I needed to find bigger premises for my single handed practise and the opportunity that came up, uh, involved buying a new practise and then trying to integrate the two, very worrying days. And I needed somebody with a deep understanding of the dental industry, um, someone to guide me through the practise purchase and then on with the process of building and growing a successful business. Chris's name kept coming up in conversations and online. Um, and so I decided to pick up the phone and have a chat.
What would you describe as the main benefits of membership of The Extreme Business 100 community?
Tara Thomas: Chris's decades of experience in dentistry and coaching enables him to see the bigger picture. Uh, he helps me to understand business strategy, tactics, systems and processes and helps me develop a structured plan to put all of that in place. I never doubt his commitment and support for me. Chris is accessible on phone zoom calls. We have, um, Weekly zoom meetings, coaching Webinars, the online platform with resources for the whole team, UM, quarterly meetings with Chris and other key opinion leaders and the WhatsApp Group with other practises who are going through similar situations and challenges. It's a peer group with tremendous experience and knowledge, uh, a group of clinicians who are willing to share and support. It's a very strong community.
What difference has working with Chris Barrow made?
Tara Thomas: um, confidence, confidence and knowing I have Chris on my side. He speaks his mind, always direct, always to the point. There's no messing about. But I know he has my back. My practise is growing. We have happily integrated two teams and practises. We have a strong sense of purpose, a clear idea of why we do what we do and who we serve. It's a continuing process of growth and learning, and in spite of the many challenges, I feel confident about the way forward and I love my work.
What advice would you give to anyone watching this video and considering hiring Chris and joining his community?
Tara Thomas: I have no hesitation in saying Join, just sign up. It is a significant financial investment. It will be hard work, but you are never alone. It really is the only way to move forwards to grow and to succeed.
