Why were you looking for a business coach in the first place?
Richard Hellen: Well, I was looking for a business coach because I was looking for new ideas. And also, I was looking for a community of like minded dentists who are prepared to push the envelope. And I know that that's that's what happens at the extreme 100. Um, also, I would say that, um, I bought the practise that I'm sat in now. Um, about 15 years ago, uh, as an associate and I hadn't got a clue how to run a business. I was scared. Stupid. Um, Chris was running workshops, uh, in a similar way all those years ago, and best thing I ever did was to rock up one of those workshops with my team. I think about six weeks after I bought it and embark on a journey which started there, and it continues to today. Um, so yeah, it was instrumental. It was instrumental in the DNA of this practise, and I wanted I needed a reboot
What would you describe as the main benefits of membership of The Extreme Business 100 community?
Richard Hellen: Well, the main benefits. Uh oh, goodness me. That's a lot. Um, I think, uh, the man, the the, uh so the the practise owners meetings. Uh, quarterly. Um, I've been to two so far. Um, I think they really help to focus my thinking. Um, we we have a business plan of our own within the practise. Um, and it makes me focus on what it is I'm trying to achieve. Um, he makes us be accountable to ourselves and possibly to the group as well. And I think that's really important because it's ever so easy to, um, wander off course. Um uh, just because of the general busyness of of running a business, I find also the community to be fantastic because there's a lot of sideways contact with a lot of sideways helping going on through the WhatsApp groups and also around the around the days that when we meet, So it's yeah, it's a good all around package helps me to remain focused, and it brings inspiration
What difference has working with Chris Barrow made?
Richard Hellen: so the difference it's made. Working with Chris, I think, is a mixture of the two words I would pick are confidence and sanity confidence because, um, I get my weekly daily, three monthly doses of Chris and the team and the realisation that in this crazy job that I've chosen to do, I'm not alone And that, um if I think you know, if all the things that I have to deal with are being dealt with by, um, a load of other people as well, and as a community, we can help each other out. Um, absolutely brilliant and sanity for the same reason. It's just the realisation that it's not me and that these things happen to everybody and that I'm in a great community, which is incredibly supportive. So, yeah, um, I couldn't recommend it enough
What advice would you give to anyone watching this video and considering hiring Chris and joining his community?
Richard Hellen: uh, the advice that I give to anybody, Uh, considering trying this community is I'll just do it. It will make a very, very big difference to your life, and I think there's a very, very good chance that you'll never regret the decision.
