Speaker: Katie Blake, Principle Dentist , Blake Dental
Why were you looking for a business coach in the first place?
Katie Blake: having seen lots of Chris Barrow's work during the original covid lockdown, we really thought that working with him would be a great opportunity to help accelerate our business as independent practise owners. Um, it's hard to find support sometimes. So having an experienced person available on email or WhatsApp and been part of the network, we thought would be a really useful resource to accelerate our business to the next level.
What would you describe as the main benefits of membership of The Extreme Business 100 community?
Katie Blake: The main benefits of working with Chris for myself and my business manager, I'd say, are mainly the unlimited access to him via emails. Um, whenever we have a problem or a challenge in the clinic or an a decision to make not every decision, but an important decision. Um, it's lovely to be able to have a sounding board of an experienced person to play those ideas off against. We also attend, uh, quarterly workshops with various members of the team as appropriate. We tend to go to the London one. This has provided a great opportunity to network with other like minded business owners, um, as well as experience, uh, many different speakers over the over the last year or so that we've been working with Chris, which further adds value to working with him as part of the Extreme Business Academy.
What difference has working with Chris Barrow made?
Katie Blake: the main benefit we found working with Chris has been reassurance. If the numbers aren't great, month to month at least we can work with him to identify ways to improve ways to optimise our business and ways to help moderate the stress of owning a busy practise so that we can drive forwards and focus on the important thing, Uh, which is delivering high quality dentistry.
What advice would you give to anyone watching this video and considering hiring Chris and joining his community?
Katie Blake: although Chris would describe himself as a Marmite character, I think that most people who work with him work with him because of the sound, rational advice he gives. It's based on many years of experience, many more than an individual individual person can build up because he works across so many clients. So I think from that perspective it's a worthwhile endeavour as well as having somebody to be accountable to. If you are not delivering what you have agreed that you will deliver, whether that whether it's in terms of changing to to staffing or other elements of your business, you've got somebody who's holding you accountable, Um, which really does help you drive the business boards.
