Speaker: Anish Khatri, Owner/ principal , AK Dental Care
Why were you looking for a business coach in the first place?
Anish Khatri: Hi, my name is uh Anish. I'm a. The owner and principal at AK Dental care in Northampton. We started this as almost a squat practice about 3.5 years ago, so we're quite early on in our. Journey, shall I say? Um, I was looking for a business coach because I needed more confidence with managing the financial side of it. And also, we needed some direction, um, because we spent a lot of time working, uh, clinically, but not a lot of time actually, uh, managing manage uh managing the practice.
What would you describe as the main benefits of membership of The Extreme Business 100 community?
Anish Khatri: So benefits of being in the 100. Community, the first one is that um. The academy, Chris has got the academy where you do this course on, on getting all the financials right. I found that invaluable. It gave us direction, it gave us confidence and it Allowed us to, when we're increasing fees, we actually have a scientific basis by which we're doing because we can see where we are and where we wanna go. It also allows you to factor in staff wage increases and all of that. Otherwise, you're sitting at the end of the year and you're thinking, well, the profits haven't gone up. How am I supposed to increase the wages and your staff deserve the raise. In most practises. The second thing is the marketing is really, really effective. We never really engaged in the marketing and then we got somebody to do our social media and Doing the video testimonials in the Google reviews, we're not perfect by any by any means, but It was really good. We don't realise how much of a difference it makes that the service we provide actually makes a difference. In our patients' lives and sometimes listening to the video testimonial or actually doing the video testimonial or seeing the Google review not only motivates you as a practise principal and your and your management team, but it motivates the staff. It makes them You know, you, you wanna feel part of something bigger than just the dental practise, that you're making a difference in the world. The second, the other thing is the cost of it, although it's 750 pounds a month times 12, which is 9000. If you look at the time that you go on for the study days and you, if you took your team for 4 days out and you factor in your management team for 4 days out. That's 8 days a year. If you factored the cost of that, that makes up for most of the 9000 pounds. The last thing that I wanted to say was, is believing that you can actually be a special practise and be as good as some of the other practises that are in the community. It allows you to strive towards being better and improving. And you often can't believe that you can do something like that. But when you see somebody sitting next to you who is just as human as you are, They're human, they're ordinary people, but doing extraordinary things. And when you see somebody can do that and they're human, then you believe you can do it. And if you believe you can do it and if you can see yourself doing it, then you will do it. So that was the other big thing for me.
What difference has working with Chris Barrow made?
Anish Khatri: So the difference it made to our practises working with Chris is that first of all, um, You have one on one meetings with Chris. So, you know, you, you know you're on this journey, but you don't know if you're heading in the right direction. You don't know if you're moving fast enough or you're going too slow, and he's always there to help you with that. So that's the first thing. The community is invaluable in that it allows you to see other people. Other normal people that are doing really, really well, that have been on the journey for 1012 years and where they are. And also that in a sense motivates your team when you go to the study days because they can see all these other practises doing so well. They get They get encouraged to get on board. They stimulate and often when we come back from a study, they, they will say to us, right, when are we doing this when I was, I, I'm not, I'm not even having to motivate them. They are self-motivated to want to move the practise on, and they're on the bus without me having to do anything. So that's really, really valuable and it's very helpful in running the practise.
What advice would you give to anyone watching this video and considering hiring Chris and joining his community?
Anish Khatri: Um, if anybody's thinking about joining, I would say do it. Don't think about it. I thought about it for 6 months before I did it, and I would have been 6 months on with my journey, which would have made a massive difference. Join for two reasons. If you just look at the 8 study days, that covers most of the cost of what you're paying in a year anyway. Plus you've got the, the, the, the Tuesday night webinars and you've got the one on one coaching. So it's a no-brainer. Number 2 is it allows you to believe that you can do it because you see others that are there who are doing it and then you believe you can do it. And when you believe you can do it, you can do it, which I've said earlier. And I think it's a no brainer. It gives you direction. It makes sure that you're moving forward. And you always know that you have direction. And you have to keep moving forward. You can't sit still because Chris doesn't let you sit still. He's always on your back about getting forward, doing this, doing that, but also with AI coming into it. We're, we're on top of it now because we know what's coming. We're ahead of the curve in a sense because we're engaging already and we know how important it is and how it's gonna affect. You know, Google reviews and videos are very important and so are various other things, so. I think if you don't. Join, I think you're gonna be left behind in some sense.
