Please introduce yourself in a couple of sentences.
John Carl Nicdao: Hi, I'm John. But you can call me Jay. I'm 25 years old and I'm from the Philippines for my education. I took a Bachelor of Science in accountancy at State University.
What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
John Carl Nicdao: I am a proactive person, a digital oriented accountant and a fast learner. I always make sure to provide high quality outputs and I exert effort to submit them on time. I am also a big fan of innovation. And in the past I have created Excel VB A macro projects to automate internal processes. I prefer to work independently because I really want to work in peace so I can focus more. But then I thought that last opportunities for team collaborations. That's why over the years, I tried to be more open, approachable and collaborative.
What is the professional achievement you’re most proud of?
John Carl Nicdao: As mentioned earlier, I have launched automation projects before and two of my best projects are credit calculator macro and modified Bloomberg file, credit calculator macro is an Excel V VA Macro that automates the computation or calculation of credit numbers which was previously done manually by invoicing team and revenue team. This tool was able to align the competition with netsuite system, increased accuracy and save production time. After launching this, I was commended by the Director of Revenue Accounting. On the other hand, modified Bloomberg file is also an XL VBE Macro that automates the manual process of identifying and classifying the data from Bloomberg and investment enterprise for schedule of investments reporting. Because of this, I received a spot award for significant FTE savings.
What are the most important things you are looking for in your next role?
John Carl Nicdao: For my next role. I'm hoping to improve my skills and learn new ones in the job description. It includes updating and maintaining reports on employee bonus schedule and grant details. I want to learn more about that. Also, since I will be new to the team, I will have fresh pair of isolating processes. So I would like to contribute. If ever I see areas which I can develop or even implement process automation. I also want to meet new people who I can collaborate with and who I can learn from.
Why are you the right fit to succeed in this role?
John Carl Nicdao: I have six years of work experience in different accounting fields, financial reporting and analysis, bookkeeping, invoicing and revenue accounting. And throughout my career, I worked in global financial service, outsourced, bookkeeping, e-commerce and enterprise work management, software industries. I've also worked for us companies and us clients with my experience. I believe I'd be a great fit to succeed in this role.
