Caryn Long: I have three favorite teachers that I want to honor my first grade teacher, Mrs Vale. She was always so sweet and kind to all of her students. And I remember a particular one day when we had to get vaccinations, she said that after our vaccinations, when we were all crying to lay our heads down on the desk and the Kleenex fairy would come by and she'd leave little Kleenexes on each of our desks to help along with comforting us. And then Alice Hendrix, who was my seventh grade science teacher. She's really the one that inspired me to become a science teacher myself. Always hands on, always did amazing projects with our students. And unfortunately, is no longer with us. And then finally, Don Carrick, who was my high school television production teacher, always so much fun in class, had the greatest project work in television production too, in particular and got us involved in a variety of community projects where we got to practice our skills.
