Amanda Friedt LeVine: OK. The most influential teacher I had would be my middle school math teacher, Mrs Best. What a name she had. She really was the best. She would never let me say I can't, I would walk up to her desk and say I can't figure this out or I can't solve this problem or I don't know, blah, blah, whatever. She would look at me, tell me to go sit down and wouldn't answer my question. Well, eventually she called me up and spoke to me and said, you've got to stop saying I can't because you can, you are more than capable. She taught me that I needed to use a better way of speaking. I needed to have confidence in what I could do. She taught me to figure out and press through the problem. Don't give up because it's hard. I appreciate Mrs Best in what she did for me.
