Video Transcript

Cheryl Carcel: Submitting an abstract as a young researcher is very important. I started submitting an abstract when I was a PhD student in 2016, and I've since then encouraged some of my PhD students to submit their own abstracts. And then I think it's a great way for students to come here and to learn not only about stroke and all the different things being presented, the teaching sessions, the workshops at ESOC, but also it's a good chance for them to meet the people that they've been writing about in their literature reviews.

Cheryl Carcel: And I really advise young people to take oral instead of poster because it's a good way to practice your speaking skills. And I think attending conferences as a student that really helped me.
