Sustainability is about ensuring a livable future for all. It's about meeting present needs without compromising future generations. Changes in commuting, home heating, consumption and diet are powerful collective actions. The European Stroke Organisation is committed to advancing stroke care while also prioritising sustainability In our mission, we pledge to make conferences more sustainable. Recognising the ecological impact of global conferences ESO actively works to reduce it. We encourage sustainable travel such as train and public transportation which is free if you're staying in a hotel in Basel. Our partnership with "Trees for All" remains solid. Last year, ESO donated 2000 trees to this project which helps offset carbon emissions by planting forests worldwide. The Basel Congress Center follows green standards providing recycling facilities, energy efficiency and waste management. Catering is sustainable offering a fully vegetarian food selection. And remember to bring your reusable water bottle. Water refill stations are available. Lastly, we emphasise diversity in speakers and organisers, fostering a welcoming atmosphere. Accessible educational materials will be distributed via our online eSTEP platform. ESOC TV will feature will feature sustainability segments and we invite your active participation in our initiatives by sharing ideas, concerns and feedback on sustainability white boards. This year we will host the second sustainability teaching course at ESOC addressing sustainable healthcare and climate change impact on stroke care. Finally, we invite you to become a sustainability ambassador for ESOC. Your involvement shapes a more sustainable future. We look forward to your engagement at ESOC 2024.
