There's a lot we have to include in our energy invoice, and we understand it can get confusing To help, we're here to explain what you see on your invoice. on your invoice. Let's start off with the invoice summary on the first page. This shows the amount you owe and the due date. If you see CR next to the balance, that means that there is a credit balance and no payment is required. If you have Direct Debit set up, you will automatically pay the amount owing from your nominated account on the due date. Your account shows how your invoice summary is calculated. The previous balance and payments received display the total of your last invoice, and the payments were received for it. Anything outstanding is shown in the opening balance and the new charges. The usage and supply is a simple summary of the amount due and includes information on payments, usage costs and concessions. To make it easy for you to pay, we include our payment options at the bottom of the first page. At the top of page two is where you can find the supply address. this invoice is for, the national meter identifier, also known as your NMI, and the period this invoice covers. You'll also see here that we measure electricity consumption in kilowatt hours. The Meter Reads area has information on your total usage. If you have a smart meter, your opening read will always be zero and there's nothing to worry about. Your reads will be displayed as actual or estimated. An actual amount shows accurate consumption for the period. An estimated invoice will only be issued if we're having trouble getting an actual read for your meter for an estimated period. Often due to a communication issue. The estimated read will be based on previous consumption and corrected up or down once we have the actual data. Your usage charges is a summary of the energy consumed and your cost for it. All rates and totals include GST. The daily supply charges the cost of supplying your power and is calculated by multiplying the number of days in the billing period by the daily rate. Consumption charges are the cost for the energy you used. The quantity is how many kilowatt hours of power you used, and this is multiplied by the rate to give the cost. Adding these all together gives you a total amount due. We also have some nifty charts to help you understand your usage. The usage summary chart shows your usage based off previous invoices and gives your average usage data below. The compare usage chart provides an average daily consumption amount based off the number of people in the household. Your average daily usage is below so you can compare your household. The greenhouse gas emission chart displays the total amount of greenhouse gases produced on a month to month basis based on the meter at your household. This is something we're trying really hard to get to zero. The third page of your invoice displays hot water and gas charges if applicable. Like for electricity, this page displays your supply address, your NMI, and meter number, and and the supply period. You'll see the unit of measurement is L as water consumption is measured in litres. Your meter reads will be displayed as actual or estimated with estimated shown if we're having trouble getting accurate reads. Now onto usage charges which covers the cost for services we may provide your building, such as hot water or gas. The daily supply charges the cost of supplying water and is calculated by multiplying the rate by the number of days in the billing period. The hot water consumption charge displays the number of leaders you have used, and this is multiplied by the rate charged per litre to give you the total. If we supply your building with gas, there will be a gas appliance fee which is fixed at a daily charge. Adding these together gives you the total amount you and all amounts include GST below. This is where you'll find the usage summary graph, which shows your consumption month by month with a breakdown of your average daily usage with the current period compared to the same period last year, your full usage for this invoice, and the average cost per day.
