Hey, my name is Oscar Omegna and I've been working in the energy and technology industry for the last 10 or 15 years.

Ironically I hate videos. So this is really hard for me, but I think it's really important for to have a quick chat, and the chat is about the renewable challenge. The renewable challenge for retailers is very real. No retailer in Australia that sells to the housing market can ensure delivering renewable energy to you to someone else, no matter much they put it on paper or marketing. It's impossible. It's not how it works. They still buy from the wholesaler and they're subject to them. What they can do is be part of the GreenPower deal, which is a government managed program then lets you the individual select carbon neutral, or if the retailer has to buy the volume of energy you consume from a renewable project. Therefore that renewable project then goes back into the centralized network. And ideally if many of us do that, we'll start pushing out the fuel energy sources or traditional fossil fuel energy source. So that's what we all do Cooperative Power is also doing that. And many others are trying to get really ahead of this. The one difference that I can say with Cooperative Power, that's what attracts me to be a member of them, is that they give you a vote. You are able to submit ideas, participate and vote for the future. They're working really hard to get that progressive capacity to be able to deliver large energy projects. But the truth is they need you to vote to participate and to submit great ideas to be able to support local, small, medium and hopefully in the future, large renewable projects. If you want to hear more from them visit cooperativepower.org.au Thank you for listening.
