Speaker: Tanya Wall, Human Resource Director

Introduction: tell us your name and job role

Tanya Wall: Hi, my name is Tanya Wall. I am the human resource director for Carbon County School District. Number one in Rawlins, Wyoming.

What were you doing before E3, and what's changed since?

Tanya Wall: What this has done for me and my role is really brought us together in a way that we can communicate more efficiently and effectively, which we didn't have before. There were, there were many times when schools were doing drills and central office was unaware or schools were having a crisis and we were unaware and so we weren't able to provide our support. So this just kind of wraps that up into a nice little package for us.

What do you like most about E3 and why?

Tanya Wall: There are many things that I really enjoy about the E3 app. Not only does it make communication so easy across the school district. What I really like is the real time chat when you're in an emergency situation. It allows teachers immediately to put down if they're missing a student or if something's going on that an administrator or first responder might need to see. The maps are awesome. You can go in and check, mark your favorite places that, you know, you always visit in the school, your classroom, your teacher's lounge, if you're off site, so you might not be on campus that day. You can, you can mark that if there were an incident. Probably what I'm most impressed with is those after action reports. It's just easy to go in the app as an administrator, I can go in and I can pull reports from any drill or real incident that has occurred. It gives you time stamps. it shows you all of the communication that was taking place between um, anybody with the app and it just gives a great picture.

How was the training/onboarding experience?

Tanya Wall: Having been in education and worked with many, many companies, curriculum companies, other ordering companies. I have to say that my experience with the on boarding and the training with E3 was outstanding. They are easy to get a hold of, they're easy to troubleshoot with. Jordan was, is, has been amazing at answering all of my questions if I forget how to do something. We had to update some of our maps, they just get things right away. Their ability to schedule multiple trainings across our district was great. We didn't want to do everybody at the same time and they had the availability just to schedule and work with us to do small groups of employees across the district.

Have you used E3 in a real situation? If so, would you mind sharing a brief summary.

Tanya Wall: The principal started the alert on the E3 app which alerted central office that they were in evacuation mode. It is winter in Wyoming and we've had some very cold windy days. And so that gave us the opportunity to determine if we needed to move the students and the staff to an alternate location until the fire department had cleared the building, which we did not have to do in the end. But it was great to be able to have that communication immediately and allow the people that needed to know what was going on to know what was going on.
