Speaker: Dr. Shanthi Viswanathan, Consultant Neurologist and Head of Department of Neurology , Department of Neurology, Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Malaysia

What inspired you to be part of the Scientific Programme at ECTRIMS 2022?

Dr. Shanthi Viswanathan: Hello. I'm Dr Shanti Viswanathan from Malaysia. I'd like to thank the ECTRIMS scientific chairs and its committee for inviting me to share our regional PACTRIMS experience on access to MS treatments. For me, ECTRIMS 2022 provides clinicians, researchers from global and regional regions, who are interested in MS and related disorders, a much needed platform for up to date education information and best clinical practises in the management of these complex diseases.

What key insights do you plan to share during your session?

Dr. Shanthi Viswanathan: During the session on global views, healthcare access around the globe, improving care coordination and responsiveness to patients needs the power of global collaboration. During the session, I hope to share global initiatives spearheaded from knowledge sharing learned from the MSIF, the World Federation of Neurology and PACTRIMS regionally to improve patient care, access to treatment and use of off-label treatments by empowering regional MS patient groups and clinicians to action locally with the motto "moving forwards realistic patient centred treatment" for all.
