Speaker: Sergio Baranzini, Professor, University of California, San Francisco
What key insights will you be sharing in your session?
Sergio Baranzini: Hello, everyone. I am Sergio Baranzini from the University of California, San Francisco. I'm really excited about this upcoming ECTRIMS. The insights that I'm going to be sharing with all of you on Friday have to do with our latest work in the genetics of MS severity. I will be presenting on behalf of the international MS Genetics Consortium and the Multiple MS Consortium, our latest genetic association study that discovered a new genetic variant associated with disease severity. I'm also going to be talking about what our future plans are regarding the implications of this, both therapeutic and functional implications. So it promises to be a great session, and I hope to see you all there.
Why is MSMilan2023 such an important event for MS experts and neurologists?
Sergio Baranzini: ECTRIMS has become the must-go meeting for everyone who wants to catch up with the latest developments in research about MS and the development of therapeutics. And this meeting in Milan will be no exception. ECTRIMS has become, really, an international event. And this year, I think, it's going to be setting a new record of attendance, and I'm really looking forward to seeing many of you in Milan.
