Video Transcript

Speaker: Fred Lublin, Professor of Neurology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

What key insights will you be sharing in your session and why is this important?

Fred Lublin: Hi. This is Fred Lublin from the Multiple Sclerosis Centre at Mount Sinai in New York City. I'm really excited about attending ECTRIMS this year in Copenhagen. We will hear about the new McDonald criteria on Wednesday. And then Thursday at 11:15 CEST, we're gonna have a session where we discuss our plans for modifying the MS phenotypes or the clinical courses. We first did this in 1996. We modified them again in 2013. And it's time now to consider some changes. So this is going to be an ongoing process, but I will be addressing the initial steps on how we're going to perhaps produce some major changes in how we define the clinical courses of multiple sclerosis.

Why is ECTRIMS 2024 a must-attend event for the MS and neurological research community?

Fred Lublin: ECTRIMS 2024 will continue the tradition of being the single most important multiple sclerosis meeting of the year. We all get together once a year with our colleagues from around the world and present the new and interesting material that's coming up. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the discussion around the new McDonald criteria.
