Elizabeth Greer: I have 3 living children, but I've actually been pregnant 5 times. My first, pregnancy, I was more than 6 weeks. I started cramping and bleeding, and I called the doctor and they said, Well, if you're bleeding, you're just gonna bleed and it's gonna be a miscarriage, and there's nothing we can do about that anyway. That was horrific to hear when you are young and at the time I was married and very excited. I always wanted to be a mom and I went and sought help and they said, hey, we're just gonna let your body do what it's supposed to do and it's supposed to clean it out, but I didn't have. Any assistance with that. I so I get pregnant, again, and I had my second child, but that pregnancy, it was OK, but it was a bit challenging, more challenging than it should have been for a 24 turning 25-year-old, super healthy, athletic. I ate really well, but I ended up getting followed MFM. My 3rd pregnancy, I lost at close to 10 weeks and it was horrific cause it was an established pregnancy and there was an ultrasound, there was a heartbeat. Everything looked great when I went in and then all of a sudden I started bleeding. We did all of the blood work and My numbers started dropping and they said, hey, this is an indication that you are going to actually lose the pregnancy, and they warned me. They said, you'll probably pass this baby sometime this weekend. And I asked, Is there anything that we can do? So I went from having a heartbeat to not having a heartbeat, a well-established pregnancy to not, and, I lost that baby at a truck stop and I bled for over 3.5 weeks and I was teaching. At the time, and I was weak and I would have faint spells. And it was just really, really tough. It took me, more than 3.5 weeks to process that pregnancy. And when I was seeking help with that, there was nothing anyone did. After that, I ended up pregnant 2 more times and, with my other 2 live births, but those pregnancies were challenging. Like I said, I was followed MFM with all three of my live births. There was never any testing done as to why I lost my pregnancies the way that I did, but what I did find out, I ended up having endometritis. And if anyone knows what endometritis is, it is not endometriosis. It is an infection of deep within. In the abdominal cavity within the lining of the uterus. The uterus is not one layer. It is multiple layers of muscle, and that can only be found out, oftentimes through a biopsy, which I had before I had an ablation and had my tubes removed. And so, I've been through a lot. And so, yes, having limited access and Not very great care in those instances has, cost me a lot.
