Speaker: Jennifer Woodley

What is one specific way Detra’s coaching, podcast, or message changed the way you think or approach your life or goals?

Jennifer Woodley: Dietra's coaching has been a blessing to me. I really appreciate her as an individual. And a successful businesswoman. One conversation that we had that kind of stick out in my mind is one day we were speaking about me contemplating accepting a leadership role in my church. And during the conversation, I expressed to her that as a young child, I never felt like I fit in. I always was picked on. I didn't feel like I was, Welcomed Or Just, I just felt awkward, so I always stayed like in the back or in the shadows. I was never one to be upfront. So when I was offered or asked to fill the leadership role in church, I was kind of hesitant because I wasn't sure if the congregation would accept me in that leadership role, and I expressed to her that I don't see myself as a leader, and she posed a question to me and asked me, well, why would you say something like that? And I expressed to her that a leader is someone who could get people together, encourage people to come together for a common goal, be successful in it, move forward, share knowledge with them so that they could be successful, train them about certain things, what they, they could do or what they can't do, and, and how to move forward in certain situations, and a leader is someone people look up to that can pour into them. So that they could advance. And she responded to me, well, you do that already with your group that you have outside of church. And I paused and I didn't realize that. That's what I was doing. And I had to Said to myself, well, yeah, I am doing it because I'm the one that plans stuff. I bring the ladies together. I coordinate whatever activities it is we're gonna do, if I'm not gonna be present, they don't wanna be moving forward without me. They say that I have to be there, so it kinda. Open my eyes as to, OK. I am a leader in the eyes of these ladies and possibly even people at work with a position that I hold as well. And that was just an eye opener for me, and during the conversation, I even got emotional, when I started to talk about when I was younger, I didn't realize that was a trigger for me, but in speaking with her, it came to the surface. I didn't know that was lying dormant emotionally there for me, but It really shocked me, when it happened. I started to cry during the conversation. I had to take a moment to gather my thoughts and get myself together, but that conversation really helped to change my mindset about how I view myself when it comes to. We've been a leader. And then there was another day when I listened to one of her podcasts and she was speaking about overthinking, and that really spoke to me because I know I definitely do, I definitely do that. I will plan something or decide to do something and then I change my mind or I think this might not be good enough or somebody might think something of it, or just have negative thoughts, and that podcast made me realize you just need to move and let God do what he got to do. And I really appreciate her as a coach. I appreciate her podcast because it's very encouraging and it really helps us to think, at least for me, it helps me to think and to see myself in what she is saying, what she's presenting, so that it could help me to be a better person. Mentally Emotionally. Physically. So I really appreciate her. Friendship. I appreciate her. Being someone I could look up to. And she is a leader herself. So, That's how I feel that Dietra's coaching and podcast has impacted my life thus far.

Share a moment when something Detra said inspired you to take action, trust your next step, or see an opportunity you hadn't noticed before.

Jennifer Woodley: Detra is very inspiring. I appreciate her. Because she always. Has a positive outlook on life and things. With everything that she does. So one thing I know that she inspires me to do is to. Work at being consistent. When it comes to exercising my health. The way that I eat. Being health conscious. So I really appreciate that about her. Because she doesn't just tell me what to do. She comes alongside me and encourages me as I go. She's a very strong support system.

If someone was considering working with Detra or following the I See Fishes Framework, what would you tell them?

Jennifer Woodley: If someone was considering following the icy fishes framework, I would tell them that that would be a very good thing to do, because. With this framework. It's all inspirational. It's an encouraging. Set up Individuals can glean information. And encouraging words to help them make it through the day, through the week. We don't know what people are dealing with, and to have something so positive as icy fishes. Book podcast. Everything that has to do with that. It helps people to see. The potential in their personal life. So that they can move forward. And better themselves. Regardless of how society looks at them or may assume that they need to be. They will see the potential in their own self. I see the potential in myself. I read her book. It's very inspirational. I saw myself in there. I saw my youth. And it's really an eye opener of things that, I could learn throughout life and apply to my personal life. So I would encourage anyone to purchase a book. To subscribe to the podcast and whatever else come out of the framework, because all. That is going to end up being is that they're going to be a better person for it, so I would definitely encourage. Others To support the IC fishes framework.
