Susan : Hello, I'm Susan and I'm from the UK.
Can we see some of your Draw Awesome artwork that you're most pleased with?
Susan : Here's one of my favourite pieces. I just love this chap in charcoal. Another one that I really loved doing was this car, which is ink and watercolour, and another one that
Susan : I'm so pleased with is this one here, just, just beautiful pastels. You've really got to try them!
Before starting Draw Awesome, what was your level of art experience and what did you struggle with?
Susan : I do a lot of painting but haven't necessarily needed strong drawing skills to get on with my painting. But I felt that it was something that was probably holding me back from doing doing much more. So when Draw Awesome came along, I decided to give it a go.
How do you think Draw Awesome has helped you?
Susan : I look forward to the projects coming coming down every week. Quite a lot of time, I think there's no way I'm going to manage this week's project. It just looks far too ambitious. But week after week I do! I get good results and when I look at other people's work, I see that they're managing the same as well. The teaching really is so good, so clear and very attainable for anyone. And I get a lot of very positive comments about my efforts, which is very satisfying. I love all the different media that we try. I particularly love the watercolours and ink, which I've never done before, and also pastels, which I thought I understood, but realised I didn't understand! And I really love those. So, a whole new world has opened up to me.
Finally, what are some of the things you like most about Draw Awesome and would you recommend it to others?
Susan : The great things about Draw Awesome are its flexibility. So, although the lessons come down to you every week, if you're busy, on holiday, not very well, got other obligations, you can pick it up again whenever you're ready and there's no problem with that at all. There's a great community, very supportive people and you just really feel that you're in very good hands with Phil who's very kind, very supportive and a really good teacher. I highly recommend Draw Awesome!
