Patti : Hello, I'm Patti from Verdi in Nevada.

Can you show us some of your Draw Awesome artwork that you're most pleased with?

Patti : Okay, here is a progression of my work and I'll have my husband flip the pages. This is an eye study and this is how I ended up. I think it's an incredible improvement! This is a charcoal drawing, which I'm sure you can't really see that well because it's sideways... ...but I'm really impressed with my skills on this one and this is the ink drawing of the Florida Dragon Lizard and that's it on this. Except, let's see - where's my pencil? This is what I'm working on right now... ...and then. I have also created these and just can't tell you how pleased I am with my progress.

Before starting Draw Awesome, what was your level of art experience and what did you struggle with?

Patti : Before starting Draw Awesome, I think I struggled most with some of the processes, like seeing negative spaces and understanding what I saw and translating that to the paper in whatever medium I was using.

How do you think Draw Awesome has helped you?

Patti : I don't think I would have tried some of the media that Phil has offered in the Draw Awesome Courses. I wasn't experienced in watercolour and of course the watercolour, pen and ink and urban sketching. All those things were things I wanted to try. But I never... I just really didn't think I had the confidence in my ability. I didn't quite understand the whole process again, but I've really gained a lot of confidence by taking these Courses through Phil.

Finally, what are some of the things you like most about Draw Awesome?

Patti : What I really like about Draw Awesome is the fact that I can break whenever I need to and get back to it. And I can put as much time into drawing as I want to, or as little as I want to. But Phil is always there in a recorded - - pre-recorded fashion, so I can always get back into the groove, no matter how much time has passed in between the session where I left off and when I jumped back in. I really enjoy it!
