Marta : Hi Phil my name is Marta and I am from Mexico.
Can you show us some of the drawings you've produced with Draw Awesome?
Marta : Here are the hands. The top hand discouraged me long, long, long, long time ago. The other hands are with Phil's tutorials with Draw Awesome. So that's a big, big difference.
Marta : And this is my Dad. I did with watercolour. I never imagined this is watercolour and ink. I know that I think is not good in the nose in the chin. But this is my father's expression. I call it from a small photo that when
Marta : This is I took it from here. Well, it doesn't see well,
Marta : sorry, but I have improved a lot.
Had you done much art before joining Draw Awesome?
Marta : I always been a self learning ah sorry my second language is english and it's a lot of time. I don't speak in english as you can tell. So everything I struggle with everything. I try to, if I take a picture of something that I like, I try to reproduce drawing and drawing and sometimes and always shapes and forms and proportions didn't fit. I always was bad with that and now I'm learning how to pay attention and how to do things so they look more real.
How has Draw Awesome helped you?
Marta : Draw Awesome has helped me a lot very much.
Marta : Phil, you are a great teacher, an excellent teacher. I tried so few classes long, long before and no, never helped.
Marta : And you are a very great teacher. You are helping me to do the things - you are helping me to risk. You are helping me to get confidence. You are helping me to pay attention, to see and I enjoy so much. I sometimes get nervous, stressful but and then I tell myself I am not in brain surgery and it's and as you say the lines, the first line doesn't see in the whole picture. My friends had tell me that I draw much better that I do more things than before.
Marta : So I have done hands that look like hands. They are not perfect, but they look like hands. And I have done three portraits, the Bubble Girl the man with a cigarette and my father - and I did three figures! The musicians - that I never imagined I could be able to do that. So besides, the community of Draw Awesome is very helpful, very supportive and I really love the place. I - I love it.
And finally, would you recommend Draw Awesome to others?
Marta : I really like Draw Awesome and I am happy to be able to tell anybody -everybody - the nice thing that it is. I have recommended here a lot but as I said not everybody speaks english and well, I like the place very much. Thank you. Phil, you're a great teacher, I know you have heard this a lot.
