Caroline : Hi I'm Caroline from the u k.
Can you show us one or two examples of artwork that you've done with Draw Awesome?
Caroline : This is one of my pieces from the line and wash course project and I'm really, really pleased with it. It's a lovely combination of mediums - - watercolour and ink and I have learned more about watercolour with Phil in the three weeks that we - you know that that was covered in the module - that I have in a whole lifetime. And this is another piece that we did. This is the Boston Terrier in graphite. And that's a lovely realistic way of using of using graphite and when you think that was done with just a few pencils. Well I'm I'm really pleased with the result - thanks to Phil!
Before starting Draw Awesome, what was your level of art experience?
Caroline : Before I joined Draw Awesome, I was a member of Art Tutor for four years and before that, I had always dabbled in art - - watercolour mostly since school and what I really wanted to learn about was how to translate what I see in front of me and how best to do that and in what medium.
In what ways do you think Draw Awesome has helped you?
Caroline : I feel my art really has improved since doing the Draw Awesome course. And so much so that I've had commissions to do for family and friends, which is an enormous confidence booster. And we've done... covered a huge range of mediums and styles and subjects. And I found it really interesting to explore charcoal and pastel pencils, which I'd never done really before. And that's the lovely thing is that every week that we get a new project. It's something else to look forward to. So really, it it has - Draw Awesome has helped me to enjoy my hobby exponentially.
Finally, would you recommend Draw Awesome to others?
Caroline : I would recommend Draws Awesome to others, and indeed I do, and what I really like about the Course is the structure, as much as anything. We have three weeks on and one week off where you can catch up or do other projects. And we also started in the very first lesson how to hold a pencil and started off with graphite and charcoal and then progressed to colour and a brilliant way that Phil has devised, that we learn how to pay attention to tonal values and shapes and forms first, before you add colour and the whole thing has been a wonderful experience.
