Ann : Hi I'm Ann. I'm from the UK.
Can you show us some of your Draw Awesome artwork that you're most pleased with?
Ann : Here's one of my drawings from the pencil module, which is a person, which I wouldn't have attempted before. This is another one that's upside down... ...put it the right way up! So I was quite pleased with both of those.
Before starting Draw Awesome, what was your level of art experience and what did you struggle with?
Ann : Previously, I'd done some watercolours and some acrylic landscapes, but drawing has never been my strong point, so figures or perspective weren't particularly successful.
How do you think Draw Awesome has helped you?
Ann : I feel as though my drawing has improved quite a bit. Other people, admittedly who aren't artists, have said that they're quite impressed with it. I, particularly - I've never really done anything with pencil drawing, although I'd had a go with charcoal before. I look forward to some things more than others. It's this - the subject matter that makes a difference to whether I would have attempted something or not. I was quite keen to do landscapes. I never would have chosen to draw a person, so it's been good that it's made me do something that I wouldn't have attempted on my own.
So what are some of the things you like most about Draw Awesome and would you recommend it to others?
Ann : The things I like about Draw Awesome are that it makes you - gives you - - the opportunity to try media that maybe you wouldn't have done... ...and also maybe subject matter that you wouldn't have naturally chosen to pick. There's quite a variety and with all of the things, the sort of structured approach to how to get an end result is really useful. I think one of the most difficult things if you're trying to do it, just on your own, is looking at a blank sheet of paper and not knowing where to start. Well, after doing this, you do know where to start! So from that point of view, I think it's been really, really helpful and being surprised by getting a decent result at the end of it, is obviously quite motivating. So that's really good!
