Adana : Hi, I'm Adana. I live in Guadeloupe.
Can you show us some of your Draw Awesome artwork that you're most pleased with?
Adana : I am very pleased with all of my works. at Draw Awesome. And I start with showing you some of my coloured pencil drawings. This wonderful dog - - very detailed - that I love. Iguana... awesome work in ink. Very detailed too. But then there are pastel pencils that I love, now that I have the courage to use them. This is my tiger and it's very lovely and in the meantime somehow loose - the fact that I loved it even more. These are my cyclists - so loose and colourful. In pastel pencils. Then I have some charcoal works like this eagle - wonderfully loose too. And my ink and watercolour started with the car; the old car with her rotten teeth! That I'm amazed that I did this. And of course the tree frog wonderfully colourful and my favourite of all times... ...this kid that I worked starting it with watercolours. And after I finished him, adding some touches with ink. This is the work that I'd really, really love to do some more like this.
Before starting Draw Awesome, what was your level of art experience and what did you struggle with?
Adana : Before Draw Awesome, I was rather average in a level of experience, and mostly I did acrylics and graphite. So I wanted to try other mediums and of course, I struggled with tone and contrast in everything I did.
How do you think Draw Awesome has helped you?
Adana : Yes, I feel that my art skills have greatly improved, especially in those mediums like coloured pencil and pastel pencil that I avoided before and of course watercolour. And watercolour and ink that now I love very much! And I get more compliments of my work because before, some people said it's childish or a scholar's.
Finally, what are some of the things you like most about Draw Awesome and would you recommend it to others?
Adana : I love Draw Awesome and I'm recommending it to everybody already. What I like most about Draw Awesome is that Phil is an amazing teacher and the patience he has with us is great and I knew that. He is a great teacher and he makes... ...he teaches amazing things already from Art Tutor, where I loved his Drawing Essentials and loose drawings of animals and of landscapes, that I struggled at the time. And yes, I will warmly recommend it to everybody. This is an amazing year! This was an amazing year! And I hope he will continue with some other lessons of course... I am eager to continue!
