Speaker: Shawn Wood, Assistant Vice President of Development, University of Lynchburg
What problems does your organization work to solve?
Shawn Wood: We're a small liberal arts institution in Virginia. And our office is charged with raising funds to provide better opportunities and experiences for our students.
What matching gift challenges has 360MatchPro solved for your organization?
Shawn Wood: Prior to utilizing the 360MatchPro program, we depended on one on one interactions with our donors, suggesting that they can contact their human resources department and their company to find out if it is a program that that company provides, what the ratio may be, What types of forms or hoops to jump through. Utilizing 360MatchPro it's automatic. As soon as they make an electronic gift, they are alerted of that opportunity. Forms are readily available, the match is provided as well. It's been set up to where actually if the donor just makes the gift and keeps moving on that, an email follows up just suggesting to them such and after a certain amount of time, there's another follow up nudge that automatically will go to those that didn't go ahead and execute that matching opportunity.
What is your favorite feature or aspect of 360MatchPro?
Shawn Wood: My favorite feature actually is that it includes the electronic real-time gift updates of where a donor is in the match process immediately. So if they're eligible for a match, it automatically lets them know after they've made the gift. and provides the certain forms that they may need to execute that match. That by far and the automation of a follow up as a nudge, just to give that donor the extra opportunity, if this is something that they would like to do.
What would you recommend to a fellow fundraiser considering 360MatchPro?
Shawn Wood: I actually have already recommended the program to two other institutions who I believe are taking advantage of the services. It's saved an incredible amount of time for our small advancement shop and is consistently dependable on the messaging and the follow up process that happens.
