Speaker: Philip
What are some misconceptions about having a disability that you wish people understood better?
Philip: Having an information processing disability is kind of amusing to me. It's like really understanding what you're saying, but with a one-second tape delay. I may get exactly your question, your suggestion, your instruction, but in the time it takes for me to completely process and use the information you just gave me, you may not understand that I received the information and you may react and delay the process of communication.
