Speaker: Kristyn McGowan and Kayla Grabowski, Area Directors
Kristyn McGowan and Kayla Grabowski: I think Kristen and I can both say this is an opportunity you don't want to let pass you by.
Kristyn McGowan and Kayla Grabowski: Hi, everyone. My name is Kristyn McGowan, and I'm a pediatric occupational therapist and area director in the South and West Michigan region. I have been with Ivy since 2022. I partnered with Ivy to open our Canton and Livonia pediatric sites for OT, PT, and speech.
Kristyn McGowan and Kayla Grabowski: My name is Kayla Grabowski, and I am a BCBA and an area director for our Ivy ABA program. I started as clinic director at our Heartland, Michigan location in 2021 before opening our Commerce, Michigan ABA location as a partner in 2022, and I'm partnering a second time opening our Livonia, Michigan location in 2024.
Why did you decide to partner with Ivy to open your own clinic?
Kristyn McGowan and Kayla Grabowski: I chose to partner with Ivy because I want to give back to the community I grew up in by providing access to quality services within one space. For me, providing quality and compassionate care is something I've always been passionate about. Growing within the community to provide exceptional experiences and a quality program where families feel safe, appreciated and supported is the culture that Ivy fosters, and this made my decision to partner even easier. Ivy makes it possible for us as partners to focus on clinical quality, pouring into our team and supporting our families by handling all the backend business, marketing, construction, and financing. We both decided to partner a second time because of the success of our first De Novos and all the collaborative relationships we were able to build across disciplines. Having ABA, OT, speech, and physical therapy all under one roof, working together has fostered an environment based on support and collaboration and helped to build our relationship across disciplines.
What did the support and resources look like for an Ivy de novo partner?
Kristyn McGowan and Kayla Grabowski: Ivy provides support from the very start. With leasing and real estate, construction, marketing, development of floor plans for a new site, even down to picking out the paint colors for your space. There is an abundance of support from regional leadership, IT, HR, Marketing and onboarding team as well.
What advice would you give to someone interested in opening your own clinic?
Kristyn McGowan and Kayla Grabowski: I think Kristyn and I can both say this is an opportunity you don't want to let pass you by. Ivy makes dreams of opening your own therapy clinic a reality and really sets their people up for success. Take a chance on what you love to do every day. Believe in yourself and what you're capable of creating, serve others and be a part of a team where you belong and grow.
