Speaker: Karen Sheppard, The Parent GPS
First, introduce yourself and tell us about what you do.
Karen Sheppard: Hello. I'm Karen Somervell and I'm the parent gps. I write and speak to help parents discover their child's constellation of gifts.
How did we meet? Cold call, email, referral ?
Karen Sheppard: Clark called me on a Saturday afternoon and I remember glancing at my phone and not knowing who was calling, it was a number I didn't recognize. And I'm so glad that I did pick up. He asked me if I would like to redesign an existing website. And I said, no, actually, I need a new website and he was the perfect person to do it.
What was your situation like before me?
Karen Sheppard: Before I met Clark, I was frustrated because I was looking for someone who would be able to do a website for my new idea. It wasn't really a business. It was, uh, my passion project and I call myself the parent gps. And I needed to have someone who would take the time to understand what it was that I wanted to accomplish with my website.
Why did you choose me?
Karen Sheppard: Clark, I chose you because I could sense that you had an interest in what I wanted to accomplish in my website and the message that I wanted to get across to parents.
What did I help you do?
Karen Sheppard: You created a website that I am proud to share with everyone I meet. I believe that it gets across the message that I'm trying to deliver and the help that I'm trying to give to parents who are looking for ways to imagine their child's future without fear and with more joy.
Were you happy with the product I delivered?
Karen Sheppard: I am delighted with the website that you created for me. And I think that one of the things that I also appreciate is that you're willing to work with me to make changes and to make it even better, which I very much appreciate.
What was your experience like working with me overall?
Karen Sheppard: My experience in working with You Clark has been joyful. I have appreciated all of the time and effort that you've taken to get to know uh the passion project that I'm working on and find ways to convey that to the parents. I'm trying to reach.
Would you hire me to tackle on any projects in the future for you ?
Karen Sheppard: Not only would I hire you again to tackle any projects in the future, but I've already referred you to some of my friends and colleagues.
What would you say to someone who's on the fence about working with me ?
Karen Sheppard: I would say go ahead and hire Clark to do to do your project. And I think that you will be delighted to see how much interest he takes in it, how much care he puts into delivering the product that you want.
