What do you hope teachers will take away from this course?
Betsy Butler: Hi, I'm Betsy Butler and I'm the coordinator for course 991: the Book Study. And this is a group course which makes it very unique to Teaching Channel. It's an opportunity for two or more people to get together, read a text that might pertain to an initiative or a new teaching strategy or a new framework or just a general education text that lifts them up and reaffirms how they're teaching and you get to discuss it, you can work together on an application and at the end of the day, people really enjoy that, that ability to be able to collaborate with colleagues on a course like this. Lots of coming together and sharing of ideas.
What do you love about this course?
Betsy Butler: I think it's always a great choice to offer collaboration for teachers and other school professionals. It's an opportunity you don't get very often when you're trying to work through your day. And while you may have interactions, you may not be able to really stop and discuss the latest strategy that might work for your students. This is an opportunity to do just that. And I love the freedom and flexibility that this course gives to groups so they can continue their professional learning together.
