What do you hope teachers will take away from this course?

Susanne Leslie: Hi, I'm Susanne. I'm the course designer for course 5533: Serving Up Student Success with Pickleball. If you haven't noticed, pickleball is sweeping the nation. Many of us on the Curriculum and Instruction team at Teaching Channel are passionate about the sport and we thought it would make a great addition to our course catalog. Pickleball is a great way for students to learn social emotional learning. The quirky vocabulary lends itself to great ideas for English Language Learners and there's lots that can be used, which you'll find out, in the course to help students enjoy learning in a new way, in a fun way, to get them engaged and moving.

What do you love about this course?

Susanne Leslie: Well, it's pickleball. So, what's not to love about this course? Right? It's just a fun way to teach and learn. It's a fresh way to engage students. It's easy to learn and it's inexpensive. So if you don't have, you know, a pickleball court near you, you can actually use like masking, tape and tape it to the gym floor or in the hallway at your school or you can use chalk to draw out the dimensions. The dimensions are actually in the course. There are a number of different ways you can use the sport to engage students and to socialize, and for you yourself, if you're interested in learning more about the sport. So we invite you to, to join us for the pickleball course.
