Speaker: Betsy Butler, Course Writer and Designer
What do you hope teachers will take away from this course?
Betsy Butler: Hi, my name is Betsy Butler and I am happy to share with you the course that I've just completed, which is 5524: Re-Imagining Trauma-Informed Practices With Equity. This is such an interesting and cutting edge course because it really discusses the ways that you can really make sure that all students are taken care of because all students benefit from the strategies of this course. You can take a look at positive regard, boundaries, policy analysis and just a general idea of what equity means in the trauma-informed space.
What do you love about this course?
Betsy Butler: I love that this course contains the absolute current research on trauma-informed practices and it includes the aspect of equity, which is something that is not necessarily missing in prior views of trauma-informed practices. But this is a focus. And I think that does so much for so many more kids who may have suffered trauma and even those who haven't, can benefit from the strategies that you'll learn about in this course. I think this is a wonderful opportunity to brush up on your trauma-informed practices and knowledge.
