Speaker: Betsy Butler, Course Writer

What do you hope teachers will take away from this course?

Betsy Butler: Hi, I'm Betsy Butler and I am the course writer for course 5419: Effective Strategies for Addressing Off- Task Behavior. This course has the behavior strategies that we are always asked for from our teacher surveys. And when we ask about the topics that we want that we should be covering. This course has a lot of, it's packed actually, with a lot of strategies that you can apply immediately the next day in your classroom.

What do you love about this course?

Betsy Butler: I love this course for its resources. We've included almost everything that you need to know in order to effectively get students back on task. We have some low key interventions that would actually take a look at your gestures and even slight words, phrases, and even movement. And then we've got strategies that you can apply class wide to focus on kind of laying down the frameworks and establishing transitions and routines so that kids aren't as easily drawn off task. I think this is hopefully the behavior course that a lot of you have asked for in terms of behavior strategies, this actually really does deliver.
