Speaker: Susanne Leslie, professional learning specialist

What do you hope teachers will take away from this course?

Susanne Leslie: Hi, I'm Susanne and I'm the course designer for a new course we are offering called Relationships, Health, and Sex Education. It is our first ever course on this topic and I think we hit it out of the park. The course is designed for counselors, educators, health educators, anyone who works with students to teach about these, sometimes, sensitive topics. The course is filled with resources to empower educators to have those conversations and we hope you'll join us to take the course.

What do you love about this course?

Susanne Leslie: What we love about this course, we love that. It is up to date and down to earth at the same time. So it covers things like digital dating, sexting, things like consent to contraception. Everything that you can think of that you would want in a sex education course is as a topic is covered in the course textbook and then you as the person taking the course, you get to decide how deeply you want to go into that topic and how you want to go into that topic and how you want to facilitate it based on the information you learn in the course. Another thing we love about it is there's an opportunity for you to facilitate a role play activity or to create a roleplay activity with students where they get to practice saying no, having difficult conversations with a partner or a friend about a sensitive topic. So there's a lot here for you to learn and we hope you'll take the course with us.
