Speaker: Betsy Butler, Course Writer
What do you hope teachers will take away from this course?
Betsy Butler: Hi, I'm Betsy Butler and I'm here to tell you about our new course 5310: Empowering Students with Assistive Technology. This is a course that is really meant to be an explorative course where you'll see a lot of really interesting new tools and processes that will help students in the ways that they need to be helped the best through assistive technology. This also includes some AI ideas and I think that people will leave this course feeling like they are well equipped to be able to offer their students the technology that they need to succeed.
What do you love about this course?
Betsy Butler: I love that this course really sheds a light on all these amazing tools that are out there. A lot of them free that can support students in the classroom, whether they have an IEP or they don't have an IEP. It's important to make sure that kids are met where they're needed with where they can be met where they are. And this course does a good job of showing the processes for selecting assistive technology along with the tons of resources available to make sure that that student gets exactly what he or she needs.
