Betsy Butler: Hi, my name is Betsy Butler and I'm a course writer for course 5308: Empowering Multilingual Newcomers with Language and SEL Support. I think teachers are going to love the variety of strategies included in this course and it identified new opportunities in engaging with and assisting newcomer students and their families.
What do you love about this course?
Betsy Butler: I love that this course has the variety that it does. It focuses on different ways to help with SEL support. There's also some basics of language acquisition and there's even a lot of ways to engage with newcomer families to ensure that they are not only seen but also represented in the classroom, and in the school to make sure that their talents are being used in new and wonderful ways. This is a very accessible course that provides a lot of strategies for this very reason.
