What do you hope teachers will take away from this course?
Betsy Butler: Hi, I'm Betsy Butler and I'm the course writer for course 5299: SEL Skills and Practices for High Potential and Gifted Students. This is a great course focusing on the SEL aspect of gifted learners. As there is oftentimes a little bit of perfectionism or high expectations, high self expectations. And I think that this is going to be very helpful in really providing that emotional support for students who are identified as gifted.
What do you love about this course?
Betsy Butler: What I love about this course that it's focused on SEL practices and skills for kids who are identified as gifted or high potential. Because I think that this is something that sometimes gets missed with all of the focus on the curriculum or being able to challenge gifted kids. I think that the fact that this course touches on their emotional needs and is imperative to their success to remain healthy, but also to really fulfill their full potential. And I'm grateful to have been a part of creating this course for that reason.
