Speaker: Betsy Butler, Course Writer and Designer
What do you hope teachers will take away from this course?
Betsy Butler: Hi, I'm Betsy Butler and I'm the course writer for course 5291: Strengths-Based Support for Neurodiverse Learners. This is a follow up to our original course on neurodiversity with much more in the way of strategies, the newest research, and strengths-based focus, which makes, which makes sure that we can celebrate the strengths of neurodiverse learners rather than focusing on their deficits. You'll see strategies for executive function and behavior and even some information about shattering some of the myths behind neurodiversity.
What do you love about this course?
Betsy Butler: There's so much to love about this course. From the cutting edge research, to the strengths-based focus. I think that my favorite part is that there is an application to celebrate the strength of those neurodiverse learners in your classroom and really highlighting that the ability to do all these amazing things and to think differently is such an asset to our classroom and our world. And I think that this course delivers on that promise.
