What do you hope teachers will take away from this course?
Julie Kuntz: Hi, my name is Julie. I'm one of the course designers for the course Goodbye Teacher Burnout, Welcome Teacher Wellness. I hope educators take away from this course an understanding that they are not alone in experiencing feelings of burnout and stress um in this profession. This work is really hard. Um and these are absolutely normal um things to be feeling in this profession. Our hope is that this course can provide you with some resources, tools and just a validation that you are not alone. Um just like we say that, you know, it takes many, many people, a full community to help our students develop as learners. So too, does it take a full community of educators to really support and build each other up in order to make this work sustainable.
What do you love about this course?
Julie Kuntz: Something I love about this course is that it not only provides you with the language for how to talk about burnout and stress, but it also provides you with applicable tools, resources and strategies to help you combat stress and start implementing change in your practice. I think we use the term self-care a lot as kind of a catch all phrase for um finding the ways to make this work sustainable. But self-care is such an individualized term, it can mean so many different things for different people and a self care strategy that might work for me might not work for you. The great part about this course is it provides you a full menu of different self-care strategies that you can try implementing um until you find the right ones that best help you make this work sustainable and that help you best combat your burnout and stress.
