Chelsea Collins: I currently work as a recruiter 2
How do you normally start your day and what does your typical day look like?
Chelsea Collins: A typical day as a recruiter can vary, but it normally consists of checking and responding to emails, confirming meetings, conducting video interviews with candidates, as well as updating the candidate's profile, and also updating the different spreadsheets and trackers that we use on a day to day basis.
(a) What is the most challenging thing about being a recruiter? (b) What is the one thing that you absolutely love about your job? (
Chelsea Collins: The most challenging thing about being a recruiter is that things are always changing, so you have to be someone that is easily adaptable and is willing to roll with the punches. One thing that I love about being a recruiter is that I get to interact with so many different kinds of people. I love building that rapport and building relationships with these people and really being able to assist them on their job search and find a place that fits.
How are you able to maintain a work-life balance in your current role? Any tips and trick on how tuning off or stress busters you can share?
Chelsea Collins: Maintaining work life balance can be difficult, but I find that it is extremely necessary, especially for someone who works from home remotely, such as myself. I like to exercise good time management and so I ensure that I have enough time throughout my day to complete all of the tasks that I have. And then when I'm done with work, I closed my computer and I removed myself from my workspace and I like to enjoy the different activities that bring me peace and joy outside of work.
(a) How is success determined in your role? and (b) What skills or attributes would make one a successful recruiter in Conduent?
Chelsea Collins: Success to me is determined by both meeting and exceeding the career goals and milestones that are set forth by yourself and your manager. I would say these skills or attributes that make up a successful recruiter at Conduent would be someone that is very personable and can easily relate to others, someone that is very adaptable and also someone that is very committed to their work and will go above and beyond every time.
