Speakers: Scott Machin. David Norris
David Norris: G'day. My name is David Norris. I'm the current chair of the ANZ CompTIA Community here supporting both Australia and New Zealand.
David Norris: This year, the ANZ community voted to give the donation to two worthy recipients. The first was Deadly Science.
David Norris: The community chose Deadly Science because they provide science, technology, engineering, maths and education, as well as resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in remote areas of Australia. Basically, our donation will help them continue their great work and allow them to continue to work in these remote communities.
David Norris: The CompTIA Community giving program is meaningful to its members for a number of reasons. I guess the most important is the positive impact it has on, on the recipients and their communities.
Hello, I'm Scott Machin and I'm the Chief Operating Officer at Deadly Science. At Deadly Science our mission is to create STEM equity. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders throughout Australia, particularly those in regional and remote areas.
We run a range of programs both virtually and face to face for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people throughout Australia. And the funding we receive enables us to expand those programs, which means we get to more students it enables us to make a greater impact with those students and encourage them to pursue a career in STEM.
