Speakers: Carrie Taylor, Australian Business & Community Network. David Norris
David Norris: Hello, my name is David Norris and I'm the current chair of the CompTIA ANZ Community, here within Australia and New Zealand.
David Norris: This year, the community decided to award two recipients for the donations, one of which was the Australian Business and Community Network.
David Norris: The Australian Business Community Network was selected by CompTIA Community members to receive the donation because of its partnering with Australian businesses to remove barriers for students from low socio-economic status schools through structured and facilitated workplace based mentoring programs.
David Norris: The CompTIA Community giving program is meaningful to its members for a number of reasons. The one that's important to me is a positive impact on the communities who are the recipients of, of the donations.
Carrie Taylor: Hi, my name is Carrie Taylor and I'm from the Australian Business and Community Network. We're a not for profit and we bring businesses and low socio-economic status public schools together to address educational disparity. We provide students from these schools with workplace-based mentoring programs in order to improve their education and deployment outcomes.
Carrie Taylor: This donation from CompTIA will be going towards our impactful STEM programs, providing the chance for students to meet mentors from a wide range of technology industries. We know that Australia is not producing enough tech talent for the 21st century workforce. And this will allow these students to understand the future career opportunities available in this space.
Carrie Taylor: We at ABCN are so grateful for this donation to further the aspirations of our amazing students and for the support
