Why is learning important to you?
Riel Twoyoungmen: My name is Riel. I was kind of asked to do a video. My background heritage is Blackfoot and Stoney. I grew up with both parents, a brother, two sisters. I'm the oldest. And then my early years was in the city and then growing up and the rest of time would be on the reserve. But I found it very hard to learn growing up because I didn't really open up or shared anything I was feeling. Mm, kind of led to my recovery to my addiction. Cause I felt like I wasn't good enough with a low self-esteem. But now that I'm in recovery, I decided to get out there. Do some programs. Parenting programs to help me to improve as a father. The LEAD program through John Howard helped me with job interview skills, certificates on Certificates on WHMIS and First Aid. Something you would need at a job anyway. I find it very important to learn so you can pass it down to your children or any other generation or even to somebody that it could really help and be useful to. I learned how to be vulnerable at meetings. Especially the men's group I go to on Thursdays. They really helped me open up and overcome what I'm feeling. And just to be comfortable with it. I heard that. I really enjoy life now. Now that I'm in recovery. And understand whatever happens just live it one day at a time.
