Why is learning important to you?

Colleen Auger: Hi there, my name is Colleen Auger and I currently reside in Manning, Alberta. The question, what learning means for me. Learning means everything for me. When I first started attending the WOW program in Manning, I was newly sober, I was currently a stay at home mother trying to get out there and make more connections, so coming to the WOW program offered me that. Learning to be confident again, learning to build friendships, Just learning to live again, I would say essentially, from the WOW program I also had help with making a new resume, which I hadn't done in 10+ years because I was busy home raising children. So with my newfound confidence again, I took that resume and I applied for a job at my children's school. And got accepted and started working there. From there I went on and eventually applied for school for the ATEP program to become a teacher so just continuing to grow and learn in education and as a person, as an individual I would say all really circles back for me to, to the WOW program. It helped me in more ways than I could have imagined. So I'm very grateful to the program, to the teachers here, everyone who helped me, build my confidence and be, you know, a part of I guess working society again. So I think learning is important. Learning helps us grow, learning helps us build our confidence, and if given the opportunity to have mentor programs like this, I would highly suggest it to others because it really is a great place to to help your life in a positive way.
