Speaker: Kiala Loveless, Marketing Origination Rep, ExxonMobil
Kiala Loveless: My name is Kyla Loveless, and I joined the Clean beauty accelerator because I was deep in the process of starting a new clean beauty business, or so I thought. I was reading and watching everything I could online to learn as much as possible, and I ran across a video Amy did with a chemist who happened to be the chemist that I had hired, and based on that video and everything I saw and learned in that one podcast, I immediately knew that I needed her help.
Kiala Loveless: When I started working with Amy, my big realization was the fact that I didn't know what I didn't know. Uh, from her lessons to her master classes, all of it has just been a huge part of the learning. Uh, in addition, I gained so much by being introduced to her network of peers and connections. She has over 20 years in the industry. It takes a long time to build these, these networks, and she shares those with you. Um, I have learned about every aspect of the business from branding to formulation to production and marketing, and now even AI and um most recently, I learned some on blending essential oils, and I, I really hope to pursue that more when I have time.
Kiala Loveless: My favorite part of the program has definitely just been the general creativity that I've gotten to use um during this process. I love the branding aspect, putting everything together, coming up with an idea, and, and almost like a big puzzle that you get to put all together. You know, I've worked in an industry that almost um stifles creativity myself, my entire career for almost 30 years. So it's been truly refreshing to use that creative side of myself and, and learn something in the process.
Kiala Loveless: To describe my before accelerator and after accelerator, I would say before, I was just really floundering. I mean, I was almost treading backwards in so many of the things I was trying to get done. I mean, I was learning a lot, but I just didn't have a process and a direction. Um, after accelerator, much more sticking to a schedule with a plan, a very distinct plan of what needs to happen. Every step of the way. Um, I've had, I mean, I have winds like multiple times a week as far as, you know, um, Getting all of my branding done. Um, getting a product brief out and really nailing a formula with the chemist that I feel like, uh, the chemist, Amy and I are all very proud of. Um, it's an excellent idea with, um, excellent products and a beautiful fragrance, and I'm just super excited about that. I think it's gonna be a huge winner. Um, so that's a huge win, um, and just learning all of this in the process that I feel like I can use as a very solid foundation to, uh, bring on more products and really make this a success.
