What were you most looking forward to with the EVO procedure?
Shivani Majmudar: I was most looking forward to not having to deal with eye fatigue that I would get at the end of the day, I'm a medical student and sometimes I spend 12 to 13 hours at the hospital and then I have to come home and study. And on those days, my eyes would feel very heavy, very dry. So, you know, wearing my contacts and making sure that whatever I was doing I was safe in them was always in the back of my mind. And so with EVO ICL I was most excited about having that procedure and afterwards being able to live my life more freely.
You could've chosen any procedure, what made you decide to go with EVO at Chicago Cornea?
Shivani Majmudar: There are a lot of refractive options today and it's a big decision for me. I was very highly myopic to begin with. So before EVO, there was never a perfect option for me. But when I learned about EVO, I was convinced that this would be the right surgery that fit my vision needs. And the best part is that it does not have to be permanent. So unlike LASIK or PRK or any of the other refractive options, EVO does not reshape my cornea at all. So if down the line in the future, I need another surgery or I decide for some reason that I don't like it anymore, it's completely reversible. So those were the biggest factors. And I was really lucky to have the support of all the staff at Chicago Cornea to help me make my decision.
How did you feel after your procedure?
I felt great. It was surreal to be able to see so clearly. Just minutes after the procedure, there's a red second hand. It's too hard to see. I can see it. And this is she's a young patient and this is not an analog so she actually, oh wait you didnt say what time it is. something I had never been able to do for as long as I remember without my glasses. It was an incredible experience to be able to see so well better than I could have ever imagined immediately after the surgery.
How has this procedure impacted your daily life?
Shivani Majmudar: The impact on my daily life has been huge. It starts as soon as I wake up, I'm able to jump out of bed and I'm ready to go something I never was able to do before. I'm so excited that now I don't have to worry about my eyes or my vision. I'm able to do anything I want without a second thought for anyone just like me. I would highly recommend EVO ICL I am so excited about my new perfect vision.
