Speaker: Mike Evans, Network Practice Lead

Please introduce yourself and tell us about your role in the company.

Mike Evans: Hi, I'm Mike Evans. I joined CereCore November 2023. I am the Network Practice Lead. What does that mean? I have a background in enterprise networks, network security and general IT hosting across a large enterprise like healthcare or other industries. I am currently working full time on the expanse programme to help them, accelerate their delivery and try and improve the IT service.

What I enjoy most about working at CereCore International is…

Mike Evans: Being part of CereCore in the early part of the enterprise setup, really excites me. One of the main things is you get to meet the whole company on team call, which is quite rare. I've been used to working in large enterprises and consultancies that have 100,000 to 300,000 people worldwide. And definitely in this role, your voice is heard. And also from the work I'm doing with HCA, I feel and get feedback that I'm adding value, which provides me, you know, great feedback that, my work is making a positive difference to the programme and hopefully healthcare at the end of the day.

How would you describe your experience with the company culture so far?

Mike Evans: So far, I've been really impressed with the company culture. I think one thing that helps is that everyone is relatively quite new in the business. Everyone has the desire to make the company, successful and to share knowledge. So, I've never had a problem where someone doesn't come back to you and we always help each other to solve these other challenges. And it's good that we talk about corporate responsibility. This supports the company retain talent and also attract talent. It's been really enjoyable so far.

A fun fact you would like to share with others...

Mike Evans: I would think of myself as someone to try most things. I guess, in terms of fun facts, I've been an avid skier and snowboarder since I was three years old. Also, I have been around the Isle of Man TT and the sports bike. So if anyone's got any suggestions for me to try, I'm willing to give them a go.

Finish this sentence: I am a link to life-saving care because…

Mike Evans: I'm a link to life saving care because behind the scenes, I'm here to make sure IT and networks serve our healthcare business. I want to make sure data is available to patients as well as clinicians to make sure patients get the correct data, which means they get the right care at the right time. For me, it's really important as someone who's had life saving surgery to make sure decisions are made in a timely manner.
